Amberliegh is a community-based charity dedicated to empowering children and young people through creative arts and cultural programmes. Established in 2007, we aim to build self-confidence, improve mental health, and promote social inclusion among marginalized groups in Islington. Our services include weekly classes in African drumming, dance, vocal training, and creative arts, which provide a supportive environment for participants to explore their creative talents and connect with their peers. We work with children and young people from diverse backgrounds, including those from low-income families, minority ethnic communities, and children with disabilities. Amberliegh’s mission is to create a safe, inclusive space where all participants can express themselves, learn new skills, and develop positive relationships. Through our programmes, we strive to reduce social isolation, promote community cohesion, and encourage mutual respect and understanding.
Children and young people are provided with opportunities to develop their abilities, be imaginative, adaptable, and productive thanks to the structured and creative activities we offer. Our activities offer a safe space for self-expression, cultural engagement, and community building. Classes are delivered weekly, during term time and on Saturdays. We are invited to perform or undertake workshops at several social events during the year. Each year we enter some of the children and young people into the Annual Borough's United Talent Competition. We celebrate Easter, Christmas and the School holidays.
